Ruby
To know a character you have to step into their shoes and walk around in them, just as Atticus Finch said in To Kill A Mockingbird.    To see the world through their perspective you have to know if they look for the good in things, or the bad.   How do they react to winfalls, or difficulties?

Describing their body language, gestures, and personal habits reveals a lot about them.

My newest character is an older elementary aged girl who has a tendency to be nervous and daydreams a lot. The fun part of writing is living within the character's point of view and following through with how they'd deal with the obstacles set before them.  The character will reveal the resolution or the ending, that will best suit them.
